We will endeavor to offer extra days, where possible, at short notice.
What Meals Do You Provide?
Our experienced food coordinators provide a rotating seasonal menu of fresh, balanced meals cooked daily on site. We cater to all dietary, medical, and cultural needs, ensuring every child is safely and thoughtfully nourished each day.
Do You Offer Before And After School Care?
Little Buckets has two beautiful OSHC services which are both north of the river - one in Whitford and the other in Alkimos.
What Qualifications Do The Staff Looking After Our Children Hold?
Our long day care services are led by our dedicated Directors and supported by experienced Educational Leaders. Together with our Diploma-qualified Room Leaders and Certificate III (or working towards) educators, our team works collaboratively to create enriching learning experiences and provide exceptional care for every child.
All staff hold current Working With Children Checks and First Aid certification, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
What Age Group Are Your Rooms?
We offer care in our long day care services from 4months to 5years.
We have a Babies Room (4months to 2years) a Toddler Room (2years to 3years) and a Kindy Room (3years to 5years).
These are approximate age groups as we will also take into consideration the developmental and emotional readiness of each individual child and transition them to the next room while, also taking the requests of our parents into account.
What Educational Experiences Will My Child Have?
Our services are guided by the national Early Years Learning Framework and My Time Our Place for OSHC, ensuring high-quality, consistent learning experiences.
Our educators create engaging, play-based programs that balance child-led exploration with intentional teaching to support every child’s growth and development. We also embrace the environment as the “third teacher,” providing rich learning opportunities across all areas of our services.
To support a smooth transition to school, our long day care services also offer a dedicated school readiness program that builds confidence, independence, and key foundational skills.
How Can I See What My Child Has Done During Their Day?
Our long day care services use Storypark, an online e-portfolio that follows your child’s learning journey and keeps you connected every step of the way. Through Storypark, you can communicate directly with your child’s educators and share their experiences with family members you choose to add to your account.
In our OSHC services, we share a daily story at the parent desk next to the sign-in/out iPad, featuring photos and a short summary of the children’s activities and experiences throughout the day.
How Do You Manage Challenging Behavior?
All our educators are trained in positive behaviour guidance and have access to resources and support to help manage any behavioural concerns effectively. We work in close partnership with families to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to any ongoing challenges, and we are always here to provide guidance and assistance where needed.
